Our Precious Landen
Today, our precious little Landen would have been ten years old. It seems impossible that he has been gone for almost six years. Gone from a horrible cancer called neuroblastoma which is so vicious.
This darling four year old who loved tacos.
The local Taco Bueno that was near the hospital was his favorite place to have tacos from. However, sometimes he would want them early in the morning. When I went to see if I could possible get him one, the manager gave me her cell phone number and said anytime he wanted one - just call and she'd have them ready by the time I got there.
We met so many amazing people during the fifteen months Landen was ill. People do very kind things when they see a little one with that bald head. I am so thankful for all of the people who were so kind to us all during this time.
He was my little Superhero!! He always had on Superman, Batman and/or Spiderman pajamas. He was known for walking down the hall wearing a cape most of the time.
You can tell by the glint in his eyes that he was all boy. But, this precious child never once complained about pain - after surgery, chemo treatments, stem cell retrieval and transplant, etc. He was such an inspiration to everyone he met.
So, at this time of the year, I'm always a little sentimental. On his fourth and last birthday, he wanted his party at the hospital so all of the kids could have cupcakes and ice cream. That's the kind of heart he had.
