Sweet Little Baby

'Rock a bye baby, on the tree top, when the wind blows..." well... don't know what the baby in the cradle thinks, but wind makes me beyond cranky!!! Lets put it this way, things could get mighty ugly if we lived in a windy valley... need I say more... I HATE bad hair days!!!! Wind tends to do that...

anyway fellow crafties, back to business...

This cute little baby card was used using the Stampin Up! Something Sweet Stamp set. The boy version is coming soon... stay tuned... you will not miss out!

Love, love love this set!!! You can do sooo much with it... very versatile. I'm constantly thinking what things will fit into the little treat cups... err... here kitty kitty... mmm.. no.. too fat...

Inside this little rattle are some cute little pearl beads... not M&Ms this time... This pack came with heaps of other gorgeous colours. You will definately see these again soon!!! Yummy colours but not as yummy as the M&Ms... mmmm chocolate... mmmm...

Any way, I can hear the kettle calling... and the last of the chocolate. Will chat soon.

Welcome March and A Little Treasure

Good day and welcome to March. I can hardly wait until next week when Daylight Savings Time begins. I have had a rather difficult time in the evenings being by myself and the weather has been so terrible. So, I think with an extra hour of daylight, I'll be able to do more things away from the house and it still be light. I don't have to worry about the loss of the extra hour in the morning because a "morning person" I definitely am not. LOL

Granted, I'm not afraid to go out at night by myself. However, the weather has just been such that I've found myself staying in more than usual.

Anyway, Happy March to all! I especially love March and St Patrick's Day because it is my birthday. I use to always send my Mother flowers on my birthday and thank her for being the Mother that she was.

I received the sweetest package in the mail today from Kathy @creativehomeexpressions.blogspot.com

She has the cutest Etsy shop kathycreativehome.etsy.com and I had ordered one of her darling needle keepers.

It arrived all wrapped so sweet with a little package of vintage tags.

Darling little tags tied with crinkled seam binding.

This is so cute and so practical.

Each page is like opening a little treasure box....

lots of wonderful little touches....

so, be sure and go over to her shop and check out all of her goods and then go enjoy her blog. These would make wonderful gifts and would be so easy to mail.

Little Boy Blue

A Little Playhouse For The Girls

I had so much fun making this fabric playhouse for the twins. I think Laynee is too tall, but we'll see about that when it gets to their house,

I made it out of a canvas fabric and added all of the trim. It's very hard to tell, but it is suspended by two tension rods as noted below.

The ruffled roof has a slant to it but you cannot tell it by these photos. It was very hard to photograph because of my hallway being dark - even with the lights on.

The door is just free hanging from the top so they can go in and out.

There is a little window that is partially open complete with lace curtains. At the bottom, I sewed strips of ruffled green fabric and then hot glued silk flowers in "girly" colors. These really help by weighing down the bottom of the playhouse.

I think the girls will enjoy this, don't you?

Pillows Pillows and More Pillows and A Little Tiny Surprise!

Just to let you know that I haven't been slacking off this week, here is what I have been working on. Nautical pillows! I will be putting these and some other new ones on my Etsy www.20northora.etsy.com

in the next few days. My shop is the lowest it has ever been and with my big Christmas in July sale a month away, I have got to get really busy.

I was out in the back yard spraying some items and turned around and Bella was standing there and guess what she had in her mouth?

This precious little baby rabbit. She did not have a cut or scratch or any blood on her anywhere. Bella would put her down and just run around her and then gently pick her up by the back of her neck and move her.

We brought the baby in the house and tried to give it some water. Didn't know what to do. I knew Bella had been digging around the building out back for the last few days, so I took the baby out there and let her go and she hopped back under the building.

We will be watching to make sure she stays there for a while longer. Don't have any idea how old she is - her eyes are wide open and she hops. That's about all I know.

Hopefully, she'll be okay! I couldn't believe Bella was being so gentle with her. After all, Bella's breed (Australian Shepherd and Blue Heeler) are both herding and hunting dogs.

A Little Easter Joy!

First of all, Bella wants to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Easter! If you can't tell, she really didn't care at all for the bunny ears.

She decided to shut her eyes and would not open them at all. I guess Easter bunny ears are not what she was expecting when I said let's take Easter photos.

I think she was expecting candy!

I got this cute little bunny rabbit for a dear friend of mine for Easter. It's made out of a single chrysanthemum with pipe cleaner ears, pom pom cheeks, rolly eyes and pipe cleaner whiskers.

I stopped in a small locally owned pharmacy last week and they have the cutest little area of gifts in one corner. Their buyer is fantastic. There are always darling items that you just don't see anywhere else and they are very reasonably priced.

I got this set of felted rabbits and eggs. They are just beautiful.

I think the eggs were $.97 each. Can you imagine making those for that?

I especially love the little chick in the eggshell.

Little Boy Blue

Hi De Ho Fellow Crafties..

While we are on the dinosaur trail I thought I would share with you all another creature I made using polymer clay. Dafney was made with this little cutie in mind...

They all have the cutest little faces and they become so addictive to make. He is only 5 x 7 Cm's so he doesn't eat much or take up too much room.

This is how he started... bit naked... but still cute!

A few beads added, and lots of awww... I love him.... he's sooo cute... LOOOK!!!!

Yes... I'm a bit tragic when little cute critters are concerned...

...and here he is... not quite so naked.

Hope you liked him enough to be inspired to make your own little cute fire breathing dragon...

My Little Smoking Stand Redone!

Do you remember the little smoking stand I got a few weeks ago at the Flea Market?

Well, I redid it this week. I started out by taking off the door and cleaning the whole piece thoroughly.

I then gave it two coats of Plaster Paint's Toasted Marshmellow. After the two coats of Plaster Paint, I used the Paste Wax from Plaster Paint. Then I buffed it.

Now, don't panic anyone. I used pages out of this book - "The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson" - which had already had a bunch of pages torn out of it when I bought it.

I then used Mod Podge and torn pages to cover the door and also the little shelf inside.

After that had dried, I added a print of an old seed catalogue complete with bird and applied more Mod Podge.

I then trimmed the edges of the door and shelf and lightly sanded the edges.

At this point the door was too bright for the cabinet and so I antiqued it down around the edges with a tea dyed ink.

I intentionally left the inside of the cabinet and the door the wood finish it started with. I then reattached the door and put back the original door handle. ( Note: The inside wood is not nearly this red - it is a walnut colored stain????)

I sanded this piece down some but not a whole lot. I just sanded where there would be wear and tear - like on the corners and some on the legs.

I am very happy with how this turned out!

Little Cuties

Mornin' fellow Crafties...

Yay for Fridays... (I don't work... Fridays...) gotta luv a day off work.. that means more crafting time. Well the house work is calling, but I have a plan. Get stuck into the yucky work this morning as quick a humanly possible and relax this arvo in the craft room.

Yesterday I received a stack of new stamps... very excited... so playing with these is high on this afternoons agenda. My lovely other half has a birthday coming up as well as my brother in law so a couple of 'Boy' cards will also need to be done.... Its a hard life in the craft room... mmmm... not!!!

Well, today's blog is all about 'The Little Cuties'... this stamp set is from Prima... Yuki for Ruby Violet... lovin' the manic little Kittys... the loose threads from the buttons remind me of little feral cat whiskers..
