Did You See The Super Moon and Happy Anniversary to my Sweet Husband!

One night week before last while we were at the hospital, I heard that there was going to be a "Super Moon" for a few nights. This meant that the moon was going to be as close to the earth as it would be this year.

I went home to feed Bella and took these photos while I was outside playing with her.

It really was awesome. So big and round and the whole sky just glowed from it. It was a sight to see. I am so glad that I got to see it. I went back and told John about it, but where he was in the hospital, you couldn't see it.

On another note, August 31 is a bittersweet day for us. Forty-six years ago we were married (and they said it wouldn't last). I am so thankful for my husband and all of the forty-six years we have celebrated together.
But, on a sadder note, it was also on August 31 six years ago that our precious great-grandson Landen passed away. It was almost the exact time of day that we were married.
So, it's a good and hard day at the same time. We have so many good memories that they outweigh the not-so-good ones. We will celebrate quietly as John recuperates.
I need to once again thank you for all of your prayers for John and I. The doctors keep saying that they don't know how these good things keep happening to him and John and I just smile and say that it's all of the prayers being said for him. I am so grateful to have made so many praying and thoughtful dear friends.
Thank you all.

Happy Valentines Day Dear Friends!

I wanted to share this beautiful Valentine with you - my friends on this special day.
This Valentine was given by my grandfather to my grandmother but I don't have a date on it. However, my grandfather passed away in 1944, so, it is at least that old. I keep it in tissue paper in an envelope because it is so old. The Valentine unfolds and is three dimensional and has the honeycomb at the bottom.
I think it is a special Valentine and I treasure it.
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

Happy Mothers Day!

Hi Fellow Crafties... & most importantly 'Happy Mothers Day Mum'...
I just wanted to make mum an extra special Mothers Day Card... so hence, the exploding box came to the rescue. I used the Stampin' Up! Summer Solstice Stamp Set.... so perfect for the job!!!
I will let the box speak for its self... heaps of fun to make.

Its funny... now I have done a couple of these boxes... I find myself looking at my stamps in a different light... how will that look like suspended... oh yer.. not to mentions I simply refuse to throw out any piece of acetate, plastic, etc that I think I can use. Nothing like recycling...
Dad... if you are reading this before I give this box to mum... please don't show her this post till after... thanks!

Well, its getting late & I can hear my bed calling...
Till next time...

Happy 70th!

Hi De Ho fellow crafties,
Heading of tonight to celebrate Aunty Jens 70th, (Happy 70th Aunty Jen!!!) and just wanted to share the card I made for her...

I saw this done as just the pot and flowers but decided to see how it looked on a card...
I dragged out the trusty Stampin' Up Butterfly Punch to make the pansies... do pansies come in orange??? mmm... not sure... any way, I powered ahead and came up with this card. The flowers pull out to reveal the message... I recon this would be cool to have a gift voucher or scratchie attached to the bottom of the flowers. Yes, the mind boggles... unfortunately my mind never stops boggling... even when I sleep... zzzzz....

I've a couple of more posts to share and then time to put on my party shoes and go catch up with the relies over tea... had betta type quicker!!!
Enjoy your day,
Luv Deb x
