A Blessed Mothers Day!

When you get a card like this, how could you not have a great Mother's Day? I had got these dresses for the girls last week and they made this card for me. I know I am prejudiced, but aren't they darling?
My son called this morning to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and granddaughters came by.
So, it was a good day.
And then, it was also a sad, sentimental day.
Today, Landen would have been 11 years old. I can just imagine what he would have been like. Full of boy energy I'm sure! I know that he and John are keeping things hopping in Heaven.
I had this picture painted in oils from two different photos that I had of Landen.

The bottom one (with all of the hair) was taken just a few days before he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma State 4 cancer. He was such a trooper and we had many months of good times before he went to be with the Lord.
The top left photo was taken about a month before he passed away. He truly went from a little boy to a young man in a short time.
If you haven't read about Landen, go to the Dedication to Landen at the top of my page.
He made us all realize that we need to treasure every minute we have on this earth. I thank him for that lesson because it made me realize when John got sick that every minute was special.
And it was!
Happy Mother's Day to you all!

Happy Mothers Day!

Hi Fellow Crafties... & most importantly 'Happy Mothers Day Mum'...
I just wanted to make mum an extra special Mothers Day Card... so hence, the exploding box came to the rescue. I used the Stampin' Up! Summer Solstice Stamp Set.... so perfect for the job!!!
I will let the box speak for its self... heaps of fun to make.

Its funny... now I have done a couple of these boxes... I find myself looking at my stamps in a different light... how will that look like suspended... oh yer.. not to mentions I simply refuse to throw out any piece of acetate, plastic, etc that I think I can use. Nothing like recycling...
Dad... if you are reading this before I give this box to mum... please don't show her this post till after... thanks!

Well, its getting late & I can hear my bed calling...
Till next time...

I love them both madly and unconditionally. They are my entire life... I simply cannot put into words what they mean to me... Happy Fathers Day Sweetheart!!! I love you!

I hope all the 'Dads' out there had a wonderful day with their sons &/or daughters... my favourite 'dad' saying would have to be...
Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a Dad...

A Beautiful Spring Day!

Happy Saturday to you all!
Wanted to share my little chicken pulling a wagon that I got. He's new but sure looks vintage. The cart was filled with excelsior and I added a couple of little violas to the cart.

We had a beautiful day today - in the high 70's. I spent most of the afternoon picking up all of the crushed tin cans that blew out during the Wednesday night storm.
Can anyone explain to me why these lightweight tin cans stayed in my yard but my big old garbage cans that were holding them disappeared? I still haven't found the trash cans. There were six 30 gallon trash cans that John kept on the side of the house behind the fence. When he and Bella went for walks, he collected tin cans. He brought them home and crushed them and put them in garbage cans. Every few months, he'd gather them up and take and sell the cans.
If I could just find the garbage cans!! For now, the tin cans are in big trash bags. I told my grandson that if he'd come over, he could take them and sell them.
Strange happenings.
