My Experience With Garden

I am not a gardener - as hard as Brenda tries, it's just not working with me.

I purchased this wonderful table at Habitat for $15.00 a few weeks ago.  It has a metal bottom and a Formica top.  As you can see in the above photo, I covered the top with a heavy duty oilcloth in a red and white check and moved it up close to the house so I would have it handy for projects.

I bought some new flowers at Lowe's including this beautiful balloon flower.  I carefully planted each of these in containers following Brenda's instructions using pinecones in the bottom to save on Potting Soil.  I got one big pot done with two purple plants and a yellow one.  I'm not big on names of flowers.

I got this really large Variegated Oregano on sale for $3.00 because it was really dry and neglected.  It looks pretty good for a couple days of water and TLC.

Supplies include, of course, a Sonic Diet Coke.

I also decided to make my Fairy Garden for this year.  I had this cute little metal wagon I had gotten somewhere and planted some small, low growing plants.  I did have John make nail holes in the bottom for water drainage.  It's pretty full!

I added some itsy bitsy clay flower pots and a pair of bright yellow rubber boots - I think they are called Welties???

It'll be fun to see everything grow (I hope).

Then I decided to clean out my flower bed around my little weeping cherry tree.  It has plants that are doing great, but I wanted to make a border out of vintage china saucers.  So, I start digging and cleaning it out.

That lasted about 5 minutes and I ran upon a snake.  It seemed like it was about 6 foot long, however, John said it was a tiny garden snake.  I am petrified of snakes of any size and kind.

So, that's probably the end of my gardening for this year.

I'll tend to the plants on the table next to the back door.  The border will have to wait unless John decides to do it for me.

I told you - I'm not a gardener!

Enjoy!

Judy
