Friends are Flowers
Mornin' all,
Well another hot day in Adelaide... what a shame that I have been banished to the craft room... the only room in the house with an air conditioner that works!!! Mmmmm... what a dilemma! Well, between episodes of the complete 2nd season of the Vampire Diaries... I managed to do a few cards. (yes, I confess, lovin' the whole Vampire Diaries thing, and I did watch the whole season in 1 day...)
This card however, caused me quite a bit of greif... no mojo was flowing... nearly ended up in the bin. I blame the 39 degree day outside for melting away my creativity.. or it may have been the strawberry champage I was drinking... Anyway, I perservered and this is the finish product...
Bring on the cool change!!! Im meeellllting......
Bye for now,
Luv Deb x

Saturday Treasures 2 21 2015
Oh, how I enjoy my Saturday morning treks to the Tulsa Flea Market. Even when the weather is bad, if at all possible, I try to get there. It's not but about a mile (as the crow flies) from my home, so it's pretty easy to get there and shop.
By the way - sorry about the shadows - the gloomy days just create shadows no matter what I do.
Don't you just love the wooden crate with the produce label on the end? It has an old rusty wire handle.
I obviously have this "thing" for Butter Pats.
I always jump at the chance to get a good deal on vintage lace and linens.
Another beautiful platter. I will be doing this one like the pretty pink one I did last week - only in blue.
A cute crocheted basket to hang in the kitchen with two matching potholders.
But, my find of the day.....
Look at this darling vintage, wooden silverware tray.
The front end of it is really worn but the other three sides are in pretty good shape. You can tell this was used for many years.
Enjoy!

taupe shed
Here's two views of a shed I saw on a recent country garden tour:
I think I would have put a window on the side to provide some interior light. But it's a lovely shed.
MOJO 256
Howdie fellow crafties...
Well, I got my 'MOJO' on early this week...
Yesterday I was making my son a cumber bun & bow tie for his ballroom dancing (as you do...) and had some left over satin fabric just yelling out for some floral action. I have seen this done on a few different sites and last night decided to try making a few fabric flowers by cutting some circles and melting the edges with a tealight... I then had it in my head that I wanted to incorporate them with this weeks MOJO Monday challenge... was a bit enthused when I came home to see this weeks sketch... my little flowers were able to make an appearance.. yaaayyyyy!!!
The 'Floral District' paper is a bit of a 'sneeky peeky' of one of the many new awesome products that will appear in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue out on September 1st.. not many sleeps now!!! Cannot wait! Stay Tuned...
Here is this weeks MOJO 256 Sketch... mmm... what to choose... round or square???
Square won out this week...
Now for the finish product...
Well, I can hear my bed calling... gotta kick my son out first as he is curled up in there watching Avatar for the 50th time!
Till next time,
Luv Deb x

Time for Dad
Hi my Crafting Friends..
Well this last week has been pretty hectic for me... I've been feeling pretty hideous with some unknown aliment... having had many trips to doctors, dentists, hospital etc I'm still none the wiser... a lot less money in the bank and very frustrated as no cure in the immediate future!!! The hunt continues... natropath is next on the long list...
So on to plan 'B' .... for today anyway... I opted for a bit of my own 'Deb' Medicine... my poor little craft room has been feeling a bit neglected lately as my days have been spent curled up on the lounge eating numerous Panadine Forte... and the other little pills to stop you being sick... that's always handy... so off I headed this afternoon to see what Mojo Monday has for offer... & hopefully get the creative juices flowing again...
This weeks MOJO252 sketch was a Round or Square... I opted for the square...
If I feel up to it I want to do a real girly one with the round sketch.. we have some awesome paper from work that I think will work nicely...
I played last week and had soooo much fun seeing the different versions of the one sketch. I love it how us little humans think so differently... life would be pretty boring if we didn't!!
Fathers Day is creeping up on us soon, so I thought I would do a 'Dads' version for my card this week... I dragged out one of my favourite Stampin' Up! Stamp sets 'Best Dad Ever'... love these little tie stamps... this is what I came up with...
Well, might grab a quick drink take my 'drugs'... (feels as though I am rattling as I walk!! ...hate the doctors...) & off to bed... back to work tomorrow...
Till next time,
Luv Deb x

Three Months Later
Three months ago about this time I was sitting at the funeral home making arrangements for John's funeral. He had passed away earlier in the day.
Three months - seems so much longer than that.
Allow me to remember.....
I always got yellow roses on my birthday, Mother's Day and our anniversary.
This August would have been our 47th year. It's hard to imagine being married to my love for that length of time.
How he loved his Bella. I had so much trouble with her right after John passed. She wouldn't eat and until only a few days ago, she had not gone into his bedroom where he passed.
The Vet said animals grieve just like humans and it was all part of the grieving process. But, she is doing much better.
I dread Valentine's Day, my birthday and then our anniversary later.
I always planted the flowers and then just left them to John to take care. Will I plant flowers this year? I don't know yet.
How he loved doing things with Laynee. We went to this horse show I think, three times in one week. Just so she could see the horses. I know he would have done the same thing for the twins but, I don't think they will remember him. That makes me sad.
I didn't go to our Christmas party (aka the Bronzer Party) this year. It was just too soon. I will go next year.
This is my favorite picture of John and I. Of course, we were a little younger but it is still my favorite.
Thanks for letting me share this day with you. So many of you have been so kind and I have appreciated your prayers and love.
Thank you.
Thank you God for giving me 46 years of true love with my John and having so many precious memories.
"The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not 'get over' the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but, you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same, nor would you want to."
-Elizabeth Kubler-Ross and John Kessler

What a Mess!
I told you last week that I had been sewing and I really have. This is what my sofa looks like as I prepare to photograph and write descriptions for my Etsy shop.
Bella kinds growls everytime she walks into the Living Room because she really likes to lay on the couch and she has one of her blankets on it. But, she won't lay on it with all of these pillows atop it. I really can't say that I blame her. There could be an avalanche!
I bought 12 cases of Poly-Fil for stuffing my pillows and I don't know if you've ever bought it like this or not. But, it is compressed and when you untie the plastic bag and air hits it - it just grows and grows and grows. This is the box I have used for three days and probably done 25-30 pillows and it's still coming out of the top of the box.
Funny what amuses me! LOL
I have started listing on my Etsy. It definitely is going to take me a few days to get items all listed. But, I will be putting new items on real often.
Enjoy!
