Sneak preview
Hi Fellow Craft Addicts,
I thought I would give you a preview of the new craft room... (I did say little, didn't
want to give too much away just yet!!) ...paint is now on the wall... gotta love the purple. What more can I say, I drive a purple beetle, my bedroom has a purple feature wall, the dressing gown is purple... well the choice was obvious. Had a bit of a hiccup though with the feature wall... couldn't get the colour I wanted so I'm now working on some purple pieces of artwork instead...
I will tease you a bit more till the final unvail... still waiting on draws, shelves and legs for the 'fabulous' table top...
till next time..

Stained Glass Polymer Clay!
Hi All,
Well, what can I say... yesterday I had the absolute privilege to spend the morning with Christi Friesen... we all laughed, learnt & clayed our hearts out!!! I have to say, she was one of a kind, beautiful, crazy and awesomely talented lady!!! I you haven't already, please check out her website on this link...
http://www.cforiginals.net/
This was one of my creations made on the day.... sooooo addictive!! I want to play some more!!!!!!
The beautiful shimmer you can see is mica powder... we had so many yummy glitters to add but I just stuck with the powders, they were simply stunning. The clay used to get this effect was a blend of translucent, tiny bit of white, and a little colour.. this was then 'mushed' (the technical description) together and put through the trusty pasta machine, rolled into cylinders, wrapped in black clay.... rolled some more... shaped, cut and hey presto... you have the look of stained glass... AWESOME!!! The left overs were made into heart pendants... you will see these in Christi's website... great way to use the scraps.. I will post this too when I finish with some beads and leather strap etc... stay tuned!!
Simply, this was a morning I will never forget!!!
Playing with Polymer clay is definitely a thing you have to put on your 'to do' list!
Please, please, please check out Chrisis website and see what all the excitement is about...
Will chat soon...

House or shed or both
Jason's House | Jason's Shed |
Jason designed his shed (right) as a 1/3 replica of his home. The shed is 12 x 16'. It has a 5x7' roll up door which accommodates the lawn tractor.
Well done! And very cool indeed.

Flowers and Weather
The flowers are just gorgeous today - at least part of the day.
My phlox just continues to amaze me with it's beauty.
The hostas are unfurling at an amazing rate.
I always love the boxwood because of it's brilliant green .
And I truly love the bright yellow little dandelion flowers nestled in the green clover.
John and I went over to help Tiffany, our granddaughter, finish her yard work. She had been in Dallas all week at a conference.
And then - suddenly.....
clouds appeared,
and they got darker,
and darker,
and darker. Then, the winds came up and the rain started. We got the lawnmower in the truck and by the time we got home, it was raining big time. We live no more than 3/4 mile from Tiffany's home. We had just pulled the truck under the carport and it started hailing.
Now, let me explain Oklahoma weather. It was 81 degrees today. Tuesday morning it is suppose to be 30 degrees with a freeze warning and by Thursday, it's back to the 70-80's.
Crazy, isn't it? But, that's Oklahoma weather for you.
Tomorrow, Brenda and I are going to pack up what remaining little stuff she has - like lampshades (and boy, does that woman have a thing for lampshades!), pictures and items too big or awkward for a box, and take them over to her new home.
The movers come on Tuesday for all of the furniture, etc.
So, her move is slowly but surely, getting accomplished. This would definitely make an episode of Lucy and Ethyl on
"I Love Lucy"! If you all only knew!

Wish us luck!!
Enjoy!

If You Had Three Wishes What Would You Wish For
Do you remember "I Dream of Jeannie"?
The sitcom starring Barbara Eden as a 2,000 year old genie and Larry Hagman (Captain Tony Nelson) as an astronaut who becomes her master.
They eventually marry. The show aired from September 1965 to May 1970 running 5 seasons.
Do you ever wonder if you found a genie lamp what you would do with it? Suppose you found one and rubbed it and a genie appeared - what three wishes would you wish for? Would you wish for riches, health, peace or a ride on a magic carpet?
Incidentally, Captain Nelson's first wish was for her to speak English!!
Think about it.
Enjoy!

Strawberry
Hi all..
just quickly wanted to show you my latest 'Fimo' creation.. my little strawberry pendant. I cheated though and used one of the new Martha Stewart push moulds.. they are sooooo very cool!!! Just press in the polymer clay (she has her own clay available but I can't go past the Fimo or Sculpy clays...) and flip over the little mould, press the back and gently stretch out the sides.. out it pops... couldn't be easier. The detail is great!
With this little strawberry, I painted on a layer of black acrylic paint and wiped off the excess with a damp sponge, let it dry and added a couple of drops of glossy accents to look like a few water droplets... (as suggested by my other half.. he was having a creative moment with me... oohhh... isn't that nice...)
Well time for bed... I can hear it calling...
Till next time,
Luv Deb x

Fall Is Officially Here!
Since Fall officially starts today, I decided that I needed to decorate my front porch. So, out comes my old red wooden wagon. I went to the greenhouse and bought flowers to fill a couple of containers and it seems like I'm going with a yellow and purple theme this year.
I put a couple of Kale in a basket that had geraniums in it for the summer.
I got a big pot of yellow mums that is just about to pop open, some crotons, a purple kale and some pansies to put in the red pot. Also, some little yellow flowers that I have no idea what they are. They were just the right color for me that day.
I bought a pot of combined flowers with the tall spikey flowers, and some yellow ones and added some small purple asters in the corner.
I added a fall leaf garland and a berry garland to the wagon also. Looks like Fall to me!
Note: Any of you who wanted either of the Fall runners that sold out so quickly, I received an order for more fabric. So, they are listed again on www.20northora.etsy.com.
Enjoy this beautiful time of the year!

What A Fun Week I Have Had!!
I have been in Missouri visiting my sister Jeannie. My other sister Rita and I go up for the annual CityWide Garage Sale each year and have our "Sisters' Weekend". We always have such a good time.
But first, before we get to that - I have been making Mother's Day Memory pillows. Check them out on my Etsy.
So, here they are:
#1 - SOLD
#2 - SOLD
#3
#4
#5
and #6
They are 8" x 10" and are covered in vintage lace - all hand sewn on. The doilies form a pocket in which I have put a reproduction of a Mother's Day card and a Mother and child photo. You can insert personal items if you desire.
Now, on to the garage sales -
You see several McCoy pieces - SCORE!! The two round pieces that are identical - one is marked McCoy and the other is USA but they are identical.
I especially love these turned knives and butter knives.
Lots of pretty plates, vintage linens and of course, S&P Shakers.
Isn't this aqua and red vintage tablecloth precious? It will certainly make some adorable pillows. And the aqua dog is protecting it.
Look at the beautiful and delicate embroidery on this piece.
More dishes and a framed Counted Cross Stitch piece.
This was at one house we shopped at. The lady said it was a Wisteria. Isn't it gorgeous? The only bad thing was that it was completely covered in big yellow and black bumble bees.
I also got this concrete piece for my flowerbeds. And speaking of flowerbeds....
this is my new Columbine. And can you believe that my Hosta has gone from this
to this in one week?
God does amazing work, doesn't He?
This is only about one third of my haul. So, stay tuned for more and also a special announcement of a great giveaway in the next few days.
Enjoy!
Judy
